Video Sales Letters

I have been spending the last few weeks creating a video sales letter for a new report that I’ve written called “The Pathway”. This is something I became quite interested in after attending a webinar just before Christmas.

Take a look here and let me know what you think. I love getting feedback so please drop be an email.

How I reached Page 1 of Google

I recently mentioned about how I had become interested in video marketing as a tool for search engine optimisation.

To see if I could actually put a video on page 1 of Google searches I trained a colleague of mine how to do it for a project she was doing on marketing a new service in her pharmacy – namely Flu vaccination. We created the video using powerpoint and screencast-o-matic and within 3 days the video was ranked on page 1 of Google for the search terms “flu vaccine in bangor” and “flu vaccine in bangor co down”.

Here’s the video:

I mentioned to my friend Ben Father – who taught me the technique – and he wrote an article about it to all his followers! This is what he said:

I LOVE it when event attendees take action and get results and email me to let me know about it. This is exactly what popped into my inbox yesterday from event attendee, David who flew in for the event:

Hi Ben

Just wanted to say – Your video SEO blueprint really works!
Today I managed to get a video I made last week onto page 1 of Google for the search term “flu vaccine in Bangor”
Bangor is the town where I live and flu vaccines is a service that the pharmacy I work for has recently introduced.
My boss is very impressed so I might start negotiating with them for other ideas!

Thank you David and well done on taking action. If you want to learn from David and support him then you can do what I did and search on Google for “flu vaccine in Bangor”, then click on his YouTube video, watch the video (In full), read the description and finally also click through to the pharmacies’ website.

When at the website, make sure to click through to at least one other page and make your last page that you visit there, the “Contact Us” page. Stay on the contact us page for at least 1 minute.

This will basically help boost the website ranking of the pharmacy’s website ranking to page 1 and the video will probably hover around Page 1 or 2 of Google. If you read this David, you can make the description a bit longer in your YouTube video, which might improve the rankings (You can just copy and paste text from your website page that you are linking to from the video description). Also consider putting the video on your website to help the website’s SEO.

Advanced SEO lesson
This is all quite advanced SEO, so I will explain why I did the above to help David (And you can do the same).

You see – Google is pretty (Very) smart now. We are taking the ideal customer path for David. We search Google and click on the result that we want. Google takes note of this and will put the video up higher on Google because it sees that people are liking it (Especially because we watched the whole video and interacted with the description of the video).

The second part that I mention is to boost the website’s SEO for the same search term “Flu vaccine in Bangor”. Google learns that our ultimate results from searching on Google and watching the video is to visit their website and contact the Pharmacy. By staying on the contact page for at least 1 minute, we are accomplishing a few things from an SEO perspective:

  1. We are reducing the website’s “Bounce rate”. Ie, we are going to at least 1 more page after visiting the website.
  2. We are staying on the website for at least 1 minute. The longer that you stay on a website to get information, the better. Google sees this (Via Google Chrome browser, Google’s tracking on YouTube and Google analytics on the website).
  3. Finally, we went to the contact page and stayed there to replicate what it would be like if we were to make a phone call and contact the Pharmacy, as a real customer might do.

I hope this free advanced SEO lesson helped some of you. And if you want to help David like I did (Please do!), then simply take 5 minutes to do the above few things. You will learn something and help a friend from the event out because the way I see it, is that we are all helping each other.

Video Marketing – The Way Forward?

I recently attended a workshop about internet marketing and I was particularly taken by a presentation from Ben Father which described how he was able to market products and services by creating short videos about the product or service, uploading it to Youtube, and then applying some SEO tactics to it.

I decided to have a go at this myself to try to market my Kindle book - Killing Pain without Painkillers.

Here's my first effort at producing a video - using Powerpoint and Screencast-O-Matic

The One Thing That I Really Don’t Like About Rob Cornish’s Gain Higher Ground Membership

"How to make money online" or "How to start an online business" are still some of the most popular Google searches. After all, who doesn't want to escape the rat race and become your own boss and start earning a decent income from the comfort of your own home.

I know I certainly do!

I have been chasing this dream since 1999 when I first tried to become my own boss by buying a franchise in a web development company. After about 4 months the company went bust and £6000 of my hard earned cash went up in smoke!

Since then I have dabbled in a variety of other online ventures and spent several more thousands on a variety of courses and "surefire business opportunities" but none of them worked out for me.

I first heard of Rob Cornish a few years ago and joined his mailing list after being impressed by some of the content he was giving away for free on his blog.

A few months ago I bought a cheap product made by Rob called Evergreen Passive Income which was an affiliate marketing course. I had a query about it so sent Rob an email. I was hoping for an email reply at some stage over the course of the next few days.

However instead of just hitting the reply button and sending me a few lines of text he did something that totally blew me away. He sent me a personal video message!

The video was packed full of personalised help and advice and pointers to other training videos he has that I could access free of charge.

This is typical of Rob Cornish in my experience to date. He is by far the most helpful Internet Marketer I have ever experienced.

I have paid good money to other guys for personal coaching but none of them come close to Rob for service - and this was for a $17 product

I was so impressed by Rob that I decided to take a trial subscription to his Gain Higher Ground Membership site and I have to say it is the best money I have ever spent.

The members area is absolutely packed with training videos that cover every possible topic for anyone who has ever wanted to start their own online business. Let's take a look at what's there:

The website is incredibly easy to navigate with all the various sections laid out down the left hand side. Have a look at the picture above.

The Let's Get Started section eases you gently in and gives you a flavour of what to expect as a rookie internet marketer. That's not to say that people with some experience wont benefit from this too.

The next section is called 15 steps to Success and this is the first big eye-opener for most members. In this section Rob takes you through step by step, the process for building your first website with wordpress. Each of the 15 videos show you exactly what do do and exactly where to click to get things to work.

You are currently looking at the very website I built in 15 steps to success. OK its not going to rival Amazon or Wikipaedia but for someone who had never built a web page before - i think its not bad.

The profitable niches section shows you exactly how to go about finding the right niche to build your business around.

Basecaqmp is a collection of training videos that Rob has put together over many years. Take a look at some of the topics in the picture to get some idea of just how valuable this content is!

Product Creation - as the name suggests - shows you how to create your own products, including ebooks, videos, audio, and software products

Real Traffic shows you exactly what traffic methods work. We all know traffic is the lifeblood of an online business so this section is a goldmine

The content factory can be used alongside product creation and shows you just how to put together content for use in your business.

There are literally hundreds of hours of power-packed training inside Gain Higher Ground Membership - here's a quick shot of one where Rob shows you how to find images for your business:

In my opinion Gain Higher Ground Membership is the best way for anyone who wants to start their own online business to actually make a success of it.

Since I joined a few short months ago I have created my first website, created my first product and written my first sales letter. I have finally done it - I've created an online business

If I can do it - so can you.

I started out as a complete novice but with help from Rob - who continues to answer all my queries with both emails and video replies - I actually succeeded!

Now you are probably wondering what I was referring to in the title to this post - the one thing I really don't like about Rob Cornish's Gain Higher Ground Membership so let me tell you.

Its Insomnia!

Rob's videos are so interesting that I have found myself sitting in bed at night, watching them on my iPad until well past my bedtime! Even when I try to sleep I still have ideas floating round in my head.

Beware of this - You have been warned! :-)

You can get a trial membership of Gain Higher Ground for just $5. In the unlikely event that you don't like it you can simply cancel it - but I bet you won't!

How to Prioritise tasks for an online business

If you are running an online business then it’s important to make sure you know what tasks are your highest priority and which are your lowest priority.

Its amazing how many people think they have been busy all day but when they look back they wonder why they got so little done.

The key is to ensure you are doing the most important tasks first and spending most time on these and leaving the “busy work” until everything else is done.

To help you with this I have included a document that I refer to daily to ensure I get the right work done each day. This was written by a great guy and very successful internet marketer called Rob Cornish. Rob writes a blog called Gain Higher Ground which is packed with free tips and advice for anyone with an Online business.

4 Great Ways to start your Journey to Success in Life

successOne of the most important stages in achieving success is to take action! My website is in its infancy at the minute and I am still learning the ropes from my mentor so I can only apologise if this article is a bit amateurish. Writing this article is my way of taking action.

These are some of my favourite tips for achieving success:

1) Write Down Your Goals.

This is the very first thing anyone who has ever been successful has done. I know some people think this is an unnecessary waste of time but I can assure you that if you skip this step then its very unlikely that you will ever improve your current situation.

Take time and decide what you want to achieve. Be specific – e.g. don’t say “I want to be rich”. Instead say “I want to have one million pounds/dollars/euros in my account”. Also give a target date to achieve your goal. By creating goals you are telling yourself what you are going to achieve and when you are going to achieve it.

2) Make Plans.

When you have decided on your goals you can then move on to making a plan to achieve them. Take action on your plans and try to ensure that you do something every day which takes you closer to realising your goals. Accept that you will face challenges but be determined to overcome them.

3) Celebrate Success

Every time you achieve a goal you should celebrate your achievement. This is why you should have a range of goals – both small and big ones. In the early stages when you hit one of your goals, even if it is a small one, you will start to realise that success is possible.

4) Learn From An Expert

To improve your current situation you are almost certainly going to have to learn new skills. This is nothing to be ashamed off or worried about. You can either try to learn new skills yourself or you can find an expert to teach you. From personal experience I have found that learning from the skills and experiences of others is by far the most successful.

Be careful though and ensure that those you learn from are actually knowledgeable. For example there are thousands of supposed money-making experts online. Most of them have never made any significant money. You wouldn’t take a golf lesson from an amateur or diet advice from an obese person so don’t take financial advice from someone who is broke.
